1. Don't jump at the lowest price. You have to investigate the estimate and find out if it's realistic or not. 2. Get at least three estimates. You need to have a choice to make a comparison. 3. Break down each mover's estimate into parts and compare each company's: 4. Expect estimates to fall within ranges of each other. The experience, skill and equipment of one mover will reduce the total cost of your move, but you will never save more than 20% of the cost (assuming all your estimates come from good movers). All movers have to wrap the goods, wait for the elevator, load the truck, drive, etc.
